Daily Activities Overview
Our lessons are structured in such a way as to constantly maintain the interest of children in the learning process. Each lesson begins with funny music and finger gymnastics. We set the theme of a class and go on a journey into a fairyland. Magic animals, princesses and talking cars help us with the tasks.
Music
Many studies have shown that music has an impact on children’s brain development. It is a wonderful and joyful way to learn. Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.
In music class kids sing songs, dance, play musical instruments and play music games. Everybody is a big fan of this class! Children perform songs, dances and orchestra twice a year — in December and May.
World around us
Everybody loves to learn something interesting and understand more about the world!
We learn about animals and birds, insects and plants, mountains and oceans, transport, dinosaurs, cosmos, countries, etc. It is such an interesting world surrounding us!
On an everyday basis we had many engaging (and fun) discussions about why we need to sleep, eat healthy food, listen to parents and teachers, develop friendships and much more.
Science
Children are very curious. We try to support their curiosity in a natural way and help them to learn by adding science topics to our curriculum such as magnets, water and ice, observing growth of butterflies and seeds, dinosaur excavation, volcano eruption, engineering of different bridges, cars, etc.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics classes are perfect for young children because they help develop strength, coordination, flexibility, balance, cognitive development, and social and emotional learning during children's most important times—while they are growing!
Speech therapy
In small groups children do articulation gymnastics to develop right pronunciation. There is no additional charge for this class.
Russian
(reading and writing)
Children 4 years old and up learn to read and write in Russian. This is a great class for school readiness. Proficiency in reading helps children to succeed in school even if they start reading in a different language.
(Reading in English is available by parents’ request).
Math
This class is for children 4 years old and up. The modern world demands good math skills. Children do math pages and work with math sets. We strive to show children a connection between our live and math assessment they complete. Warm environment and sense of humor during any learning helps to enjoy the class!
English
Children learn English words and simple sentences. It will help them to avoid stress when they start school.
Art and crafts
We pay great attention to developing fine motor skills. Art and craft is a very joyful way for this development. Everybody is always very proud of their creation!
Musical theater
Children take roles in a musical story. Performances are twice a year - in December and May. This class requires children to learn a lot by heart. Great opportunity to develop memory and vocabulary.
Gardening
We love gardening! Children plant and take care of our vegetables and flowers. When the harvest is ready we all enjoy it!
